This chair was part of the furniture that Eero Saarinen was commissioned to design for the Kingswood School for Girls when he was just 19 years old. The chairs, which were designed between 1929 and 1931, are notable for the coral finish that hints at Saarinen's later designs.

The dining table pictured here was designed in 1966 and is produced by Knoll in Italy. It is part of a larger collection, that centered on the used of steel rods and wire, that includes stools, tables, and chairs. The furniture in this collection is meant to evoke a sculptural quality. Despite the very modern materials Platner wanted to design furniture that was not only decorative, but also graceful and gentle. The table is very disntinctive, but was also designed with the idea of fitting different decors. The table tops can be choosen in different colors and materials, such as glass, wood, and marble.
